The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Pavel Jozef Safarik is one of the leading medical schools in Slovakia. The university is located in the city of Kosice, the second-largest city in Slovakia, and has a long history of providing excellent medical education to students from all over the world. The faculty offers study programs in General medicine and Dental medicine for international students. The undergraduate programs are six-year programs that lead to a Doctor of Medicine degree or Doctor of Dental Medicine. The program includes both theoretical and practical training, with students spending time in hospitals and clinics to gain hands-on experience. The programs are designed for students who want to pursue a career in medical research or academia. The faculty of medicine has highly qualified professors and teachers and over 1200 students (50% of them are international students from 75 countries worldwide).
There is one admission per year (Winter intake admission), and entrance exams are usually organized in June, July, and August. The school works with multiple hospitals and clinics in Kosice: New Hospital (also called University hospital located next to the Faculty), Old hospital (mostly for Dental students), and Hospital in Saca (private hospital).
