Study programs in English in Slovakia

Slovak Universities and colleges are getting more and more opened to international students. Applicants should go through study programs that are offered in English, German language, French or Hungarian and pick that one, that corresponds the most to his/her preferences. Description of the study program together with tuition fees and other important information can be read below. All the programs listed below are being opened every year in English (there are enough students for programs)

  • About the program: Study program General Medicine is a joint program from the first and second levels of studies. Students obtain theoretical knowledge, preclinical and clinical subjects. Therapeutics and clinic methods also play an important role in this program. Furthermore, students gain preconditions (after compulsory practice, postgraduate studies and exams) for specialization in the respective branches or in medical research. Graduates are awarded degree MUDr. (Doctor of General medicine), which entitle them to work within the European Union and in most countries of the world.

Pharmacy

  • About the program:  The program is focused on drug and pharmaceutical issues within the framework of health and drug policy, as well as theoretical and methodological aspects of dispensation activities, and communication with patients/clients while implementing pharmaceutical processes. To obligatory courses belong, for example Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Botany, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Immunology, Microbiology, Radiopharmaceuticals. Students can also choose from a list of compulsory elective courses like: Immunodiagnostics, Medicinal Plants, Biotechnology, New Trends in Analytical Chemistry, Xeniobiochemistry. Practice in a Community Pharmacy is an opportunity for each student to get in touch with real-life pharmaceutical experience.

Mechanical Engineering

  • Length of program: 5 years (3 years Bachelors and 2 years Masters)

  • Language of program: English
  • About the program:  Programme graduates gain the knowledge of the theory of mechanical systems and of their application in computation, constructional and technological problems. Graduates are able to design, develop, implement, expand and operate modern mechanical devices, and they can co‑operate with managers and specialists from other professions. They also obtain theoretical and methodical knowledge of the areas related to engineering and machines, they will improve their skills in using the CAD systems, and they will introduce the economy rules, organization and business activities in the area of mechanical production. Graduates will obtain practical experience, abilities and skills by working in the area of construction and making documents of mechanical systems.
