About Medical University of Warsaw
The Medical University of Warsaw (MUW) is one of the oldest medical schools in Poland. For over 200 years it has provided education and training in medicine and pharmacy at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. MUW’s programs meet the highest international standards of university-level education and are based on the principles of good clinical and pharmaceutical practice.
MUW offers 19 degree programs including 3 full-time degree programs in English: Dentistry, Medicine, Pharmacy.
About Faculty of medicine and dentistry
The English Division of the Second Faculty of Medicine was established in 1993 at the Medical University of Warsaw for students interested in studying medicine in English.
The Division offers medical programme for high school graduates and for college/university graduates. At the end of the program the graduates are awarded the MD degree and receive a medical diploma recognized in the European Union, USA, Canada and most other countries of the world (for precise information on diploma recognition in particular countries, consult appropriate legal acts).
Recognition in EU and Iran
Degree from MUW is recognised in European union and in Iran.
Besides – MUW has joined the Global Health Learning Opportunities program (GHLO) and signed an appropriate agreement with the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) allowing our university to participate in this international student exchange program for elective rotations as Home Institution. Participation in this program will facilitate finding and processing elective rotation positions abroad.
STUDY PROGRAM General medicine
The 6-year MD program is offered to high school graduates, Bachelor holders and students enrolled at a institute of higher education.
The program is adopted to the EU standards (according to the Directive of the European Parliament 2005/36/EC) and offers over 5700 hours of learning in general medicine, pre-clinical and clinical courses.
Applicants whose native language is not English will be required to show proof of English proficience with one of the following certificates: IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC or CEFR.
STUDY PROGRAM Dental medicine
The Medical University of Warsaw offers a 5-year Dental Program to High School graduates. The program adopted to the EU standards provides more than 5000 hours of instruction and 300 ECTS.
Total duration of the 5-year dental program is 10 semesters (150 weeks) during which students have lectures, seminars, and practical classes. Upon completion of each year of studies, students are required to take a 4 -week summer practical training which is mandatory and included in the curriculum. Practical trainings can be completed in recognized institutions in native countries of the students.
The Graduate obtains a DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree and receives a diploma recognized in many countries. The curriculum conforms to the European Union standards of dental programs. The graduate can continue their career at the Medical University of Warsaw both as a scientist or as a teacher.

Admission fee which must be paid before start of studies is 200€. Application fee is 200€.
The cost of books, supplies and miscellaneous expenses amounts to about 2.000,00 EUR.
Housing expenses and cost of living: 6.000,00 – 7.000,00 EUR.
Admission process
Students must pass an entrance examination – there will be 35 questions from chemistry, 35 from biology and 30 from physics. You may get max 100 points – each question has only 1 correct answer. If you select correct answer – you get one point. Test takes 2 hours.
Entrance exam dates
The entrance exam will take place on 1st of June in Warsaw.
Application fee is 200€ and is non-refundable.
