If you are a student from European Union and you wish to register your stay in Slovakia, you will need to go to foreign police. There is this responsibility of student in case you wiĺl stay at least 3 months in Slovakia. The registration is very useful especially when you need some proof of residence at borders controls (due to Corona etc)

There are two options how to register:
a) without getting residence card
b) with getting residence card

a) without getting residence card – you need to fill in document attached and together with study confirmation (signed by dean or vicedean) bring it to foreign police. It will take 5-10 minutes. Please have passport or ID card with you. You will be asked to sign an affidavit that you will not be a burden to Slovak social security system.

b) with getting residence card – you will need to have following documents – passport or ID card, registration form, notary verified accommodation contract and study confirmation (signed by Dean or vicedean). The card production costs 4,50€ (express takes 24,50€) and you will get it within 3-14 days. Do not forget about 2 passport size pictures.
