Students may study either in Slovak language or in foreign languages. In case that student decide to apply for studying in Slovak, good command of this language is required. In other case, students are invited to study in English (around 90% of study programmes are in English), German, French, Spanish or in Hungarian.

Yes, you must pay tuition fees if you study in English, German or French language. Tuition fees vary from 750 to 11,000€ per study year. This might seems to be a lot – on the other hand, living costs are much lower in comparison with Western countries, which saves you thousands of euros each year.

Yes, it is. Thanks to the Bologna process, graduates can work in any country of European Union without any need to do any extra examination. Furthermore, most countries of the world recognise degree as well.

There are plenty of study programs open for international students in Slovakia. The most popular are General medicine, Dental medicine, Pharmacy and International management. There are also courses of Master of Business Administration offered for managers from all over the world.

An admission process is different for every faculty or college. There might be entrance examination, interview, motivation letter or good marks required for selected courses from secondary school. More information can be found on a website of given faculty or college or here.

Yes, you can. You should begin with preparation for admission process as soon as possible. Especially getting visas can be time consuming and long procedure, where various bodies of government are involved. Make sure to begin at least 2 months before entrance examination or enrollment.

Slovak educational institutions operate under ECTS system – that means, that study attainment are fully comparable within European union. That is great news for you – you can apply for transfer of your studies and complete your higher education in Slovakia. But be careful – not all courses may be recognised by your wished faculty or college – for example only marks A to D are recognised at Faculty of medicine in Bratislava.
